The working principle of a gas meter
A gas meter is a measuring device used to record the amount of gas consumed in your home. Below, we’ll introduce how a gas meter works, so you can make better use of it in the future.
The gas meter operates on the same principle as an ancient locomotive: it relies on gas pressure to perform external work, driving a wheel-based counter to record the measurement. Use... A “bellows” replaces the cylinder, and a “diaphragm” replaces the piston. The so-called “bellows” is nothing more than an empty metal box. The box consists of two halves, with a soft, air-tight membrane sandwiched between them.

The gas meter employs the same technology as that used in steam engines: as the diaphragm and rigid core move to the far left or far right, the gas meter can continue to operate. Specifically, the meter uses two sets of bellows and diaphragms, whose rigid cores are connected via rods to the same vertical shaft. This shaft is equipped with two cranks, and these two cranks are also... Divided by 90 degrees, the two hardcore elements each shift half a step—the one moves to the end, while the other ends up right in the middle—never able to come to a stop.
The above is how gas meters work. We hope this information is helpful to everyone. The gas meters developed by Chengde Longzhida Smart Instruments & Meter Technology Co., Ltd. feature high-quality craftsmanship, simple installation, and remarkable energy-saving performance. Feel free to call for more information.
