Chengde Longzhida———Smart water meters are crucial for rural drinking water upgrades.
Water is the source of life, yet in rural areas, due to geographical and other factors, access to water has long been unreliable. Since the founding of New China up to 2015, China’s rural water supply system has gone through four distinct stages: natural development, the initial stage of providing drinking water, overcoming drinking-water difficulties, and ensuring drinking-water safety. Since the implementation of the Rural Drinking Water Safety Project, a total of 520 million rural residents and over 47 million teachers and students in rural schools have had their drinking-water safety issues resolved. Nevertheless, the challenges remain serious, and continued efforts are still needed.
Chengde City is vigorously implementing rural wastewater treatment projects. In 2020, wastewater treatment was completed in 120 villages, bringing the total number of villages treated to 350. Guided by the principle of "adapting measures to local conditions and piloting first," the city has adopted both long-term, sustainable solutions and short-term emergency measures for villages located along rivers and environmentally sensitive areas. By delineating specific zones and conducting comprehensive watershed-level construction, Chengde is advancing its rural drinking water safety project across the entire city.
Based on the rural drinking water renovation project, our company has developed an IC-card smart water meter. Using this IC-card smart water meter as a metering and settlement device for rural drinking water supply offers several advantages:

On July 2, Chengde Longzhida Company held a meeting with the Sino-German Institute. After thorough discussions between the two sides, Mr. Bai, General Manager of Longzhida Company, and the faculty team from the Sino-German Institute reached a consensus: Longzhida Company officially entrusted the Sino-German Institute to carry out the design and R&D work for a new type of ultrasonic water meter.
