How do you determine whether the meter at home is a water meter and whether the product is qualified?
Smart water meters have replaced traditional water meters and are now found in countless households. The market is flooded with a wide variety of water meter brands. So how can you buy a water meter that’s both comfortable and reliable to use? And how can you determine whether the water meter installed in your home meets the required standards? Below, we’ll walk you through the process.
1. First, turn off the water supply in your home, then check whether the pointer on the water meter is moving or whether the numbers are changing. If the pointer remains still and the numbers don’t change, it means the water meter is functioning properly.
2. If the pointer is spinning or the numbers keep changing, you should check whether there’s any water leakage in your home’s plumbing system. If no leakage is found, it could indicate that the water meter itself is malfunctioning.
3. For several consecutive days, keep the faucet turned on and let the water flow for the same duration each time. Then observe the movement of the pointer and the changes in the numerical display, recording the readings daily. If the daily readings remain consistent, it indicates that the water meter is functioning properly. However, if there’s a significant discrepancy between the readings, it suggests that the water meter is malfunctioning.
