Common Valve Faults and Repair Methods
Sometimes, we may encounter valve malfunctions. Below, we’ll introduce some common valve failures and their corresponding repair methods.
1. What should I do if the valve body is leaking?
Repair method: Grind the crack and then etch it using a nitric acid solution.
2. The valve stem and its mating threads are damaged, or the valve stem head is broken, or the valve stem is bent.
Maintenance methods: Improve operating procedures and avoid excessive force; inspect the limit switches and torque protection devices; select appropriate materials that meet assembly tolerance requirements; 3. Replace spare parts.
3. Valve cover gasket leakage
Repair methods: Tighten the bolts or ensure consistent gaps between the door cover flanges; replace the gasket; disassemble and repair the sealing surface of the door cover.
4. Internal leakage of the valve
Repair method: Improve operation and re-open or close it; disassemble the valve, and re-grind the valve core and seat sealing surfaces.
5. The valve core has become detached from the valve stem, causing switching failure.
Maintenance method: During maintenance, pay attention to inspection; replace the door rod with one made of corrosion-resistant material.
