FAQ
1. Why can some measuring instruments be inspected on-site, while others need to be sent in for inspection?
Generally, large-scale precision measuring instruments or machinery whose movement might be affected can be inspected on-site, provided that the on-site environmental conditions meet the required specifications. For instruments or equipment with particularly stringent requirements regarding environmental factors such as temperature and humidity, they will need to be sent to a specialized testing facility.
2. After repairing a measuring instrument, is it necessary to re-verify or recalibrate it?
After maintenance, measuring instruments must be re-verified and recalibrated to ensure their accuracy and proper functioning.

3. Which measuring instruments are subject to mandatory verification?
According to the relevant provisions of the Measurement Law, the measuring instruments subject to mandatory verification fall into three main categories: The first category comprises public metrological standards used by society at large. The second category consists of the highest-level metrological standards used by government departments, enterprises, and public institutions. The third category includes measuring instruments listed in the “Catalog of Measuring Instruments Subject to Mandatory Management” issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation, which are employed in trade settlement, safety protection, medical and health care, and environmental monitoring activities.
