What materials are used to make the casing of a smart water meter?
Smart water meters are being increasingly adopted in both urban and rural areas, replacing the older mechanical water meters. As we enter the era of smart water meters, further improvements have been made to their housings. Below, we’ll introduce the common materials used for smart water meter housings.
1. Engineering plastics
Advantages: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant,不易 rusting,不易 scaling, and simple to manufacture.
Disadvantages: low mechanical strength, insufficient rigidity, aging, and susceptibility to thermal expansion and contraction.
2. Ductile iron
Advantages: High strength, good toughness, and excellent wear resistance.
Disadvantage: Prone to rust.
3. Stainless steel
Advantages: Corrosion-resistant, acid- and alkali-resistant, hygienic and environmentally friendly, with high mechanical performance.
Disadvantages: Difficult to process, high cost

4. Cast lead brass
Advantages: Good mechanical properties, simple manufacturing process.
Disadvantages: Excessive lead leaching and the formation of verdigris pose health risks to humans; China lacks domestic copper resources; smelting consumes large amounts of energy; low-lead copper has high manufacturing costs and poor machinability.
5. Cast aluminum alloy
Advantages: Lower cost; good mechanical properties; high cost-performance ratio with low production costs.
Drawbacks: Under impact forces, the surface-hardened layers in areas such as threads are prone to flaking and damage. It remains to be evaluated whether the precipitates formed after surface oxidation pose any health risks to humans. Methods for predicting and assessing the corrosion trend of watch cases are still under research.

Longzhida Company Successfully Hosted the Victory Parade Commemorating the War of Resistance.
Today is a day that every Chinese person should solemnly remember—the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
On July 2, Chengde Longzhida Company held a meeting with the Sino-German Institute. After thorough discussions between the two sides, Mr. Bai, General Manager of Longzhida Company, and the faculty team from the Sino-German Institute reached a consensus: Longzhida Company officially entrusted the Sino-German Institute to carry out the design and R&D work for a new type of ultrasonic water meter.
On May 30, Longzhida Company successfully held an exceptionally meaningful event titled “Welcoming the Eighth ‘National Science and Technology Workers’ Day’: Promoting the Spirit of Scientists.”
