Why can’t photoelectric direct-reading water meters communicate?
The photoelectric direct-read remote transmission water meter primarily employs an infrared direct-read operating principle. It is immune to electromagnetic and optical interference, enabling effective meter reading control. For tap water systems, this technology can significantly reduce the costs associated with manual meter reading and also help avoid losses caused by human error during manual readings. Recently, some customers have contacted our after-sales department, asking what they should do if they encounter communication problems when connecting the wiring.
To solve a problem, you must first identify the root cause so that you can apply the right remedy. 1. Wiring errors. 2. Misconfigured communication protocols. 3. Damage to the internal communication module of the water meter.

What is the communication interface of the photoelectric meter?
The communication interface of the photoelectric direct-reading water meter is either M-BUS or RS485. The M-BUS bus has two wires—red and white—and does not distinguish between positive and negative poles. The RS485 bus has four wires: red, black, yellow, and blue. The red and black wires are the positive and negative power supply lines, while the yellow and blue wires carry the signal “A/B.” It’s crucial not to connect these wires incorrectly; otherwise, communication will fail.
The above is the reason why the photoelectric meter cannot communicate. We hope this information helps everyone better resolve the issue. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.

Longzhida Company Successfully Hosted the Victory Parade Commemorating the War of Resistance.
Today is a day that every Chinese person should solemnly remember—the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
On July 2, Chengde Longzhida Company held a meeting with the Sino-German Institute. After thorough discussions between the two sides, Mr. Bai, General Manager of Longzhida Company, and the faculty team from the Sino-German Institute reached a consensus: Longzhida Company officially entrusted the Sino-German Institute to carry out the design and R&D work for a new type of ultrasonic water meter.
On May 30, Longzhida Company successfully held an exceptionally meaningful event titled “Welcoming the Eighth ‘National Science and Technology Workers’ Day’: Promoting the Spirit of Scientists.”
