Teaching you how to tell whether the water quality at home is good or bad.
Water is the source of life and an indispensable part of human drinking and daily life. However, with the development of industry, water and environmental pollution have become increasingly severe. In some households, the tap water received by residents is either yellowish or contains numerous impurities. Such poor water quality seriously affects residents’ health. Therefore, learning how to distinguish between good and bad water quality is a must for everyone.
1. Fill a glass with high transparency to the brim, then hold it up to the light and observe carefully for any fine sediment settling at the bottom or floating suspended in the water. If you notice any impurities in the water, it indicates that the levels exceed the standard.
2. Smell with your nose to check for any unusual odors. If you detect the smell of bleach, it indicates that the residual chlorine level in the tap water exceeds the standard. If you notice other foul odors, it suggests that the water has been contaminated by other chemical substances.

3. Take a sip of tap water and check if it has any unusual odor. Then boil it. If the boiled water still has no unusual odor, but does have other tastes, it indicates that the water is hard.
4. You can use residual chlorine test kits to measure the residual chlorine in tap water. You can also use pH test strips to check the acidity or alkalinity.
The methods for assessing the quality of your household water have been outlined above. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask—we’re here to help you anytime!
