Delivering a Party Lecture—The Significant Importance of the 20th National Congress
The 20th National Congress is a highly significant congress marking the Party’s entry into a new journey of fully building a modern socialist country and marching toward the second centenary goal. It is a major event in the political life of the Party and the state. On December 9, 2022, Chairman Bai Jin Kui delivered a speech titled “The Significance of Studying the 20th National Congress.” In his speech, Chairman Bai Jin Kui elaborated on the spirit of the 20th National Congress from the following aspects.
1. Over the past decade, we have accomplished three major undertakings of great contemporary significance and profound historical importance for the cause of the Party and the people: First, we celebrated the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China; second, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era; and third, we have completed the historic task of poverty alleviation and built a moderately prosperous society in all respects, thus achieving the first centenary goal. This is a historic victory won through the united efforts of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people—a victory that will be recorded in the annals of the development of the Chinese nation and one that will have far-reaching implications for the world.
2. From now on, the central task of the Communist Party of China is to unite and lead people of all ethnic groups across the country in fully building a modern socialist power and achieving the Second Centenary Goal, thereby comprehensively advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization.
3. Uphold and carry forward the spirit of struggle. Strengthen the ambition, backbone, and confidence of all Party members and people of all ethnic groups across the country—refuse to yield to evil, fear no ghosts, and withstand no pressure. Courageously face difficulties, rise to challenges, coordinate development with security, and spare no effort to overcome all obstacles and challenges on our path forward. Rely on tenacious struggle to open up new horizons for our cause’s development.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of studying the report of the 20th National Congress of the Party and the Party Constitution word by word and sentence by sentence, as well as thoroughly understanding the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the 20th National Congress. During the pandemic, all departments should actively cooperate to ensure that epidemic prevention measures are effectively implemented and that production continues to run smoothly. We must attract high-tech talent and continuously optimize product technology. Let us learn from the Party’s spirit of hard work and entrepreneurship—its courage to face difficulties head-on—and forge ahead with determination to achieve even greater accomplishments.

Today is a day that every Chinese person should solemnly remember—the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
