The working principle of the smart mixing valve—by “smart mixing valve,” I’m referring to the type used in public bathhouses for blending hot and cold water, not those used for building-level heating systems. This smart mixing valve has a wide range of applications: it’s suitable not only for bathhouses in government agencies, organizations, enterprises, and public venues but can also be applied to industries such as chemical processing and textile dyeing that require constant-temperature water. With slight modifications, it can even be used in central air-conditioning cooling systems and heating systems for maintaining stable water temperatures. The reason it’s called a “smart” mixing valve is that it’s a mechatronic device with digital display, operating via electromagnetic induction. It requires absolutely no manual supervision or manual water mixing. After setting the desired temperature on the digital display, all you need is electricity—but the smart mixing valve consumes very little power, possibly less than one unit per day. The mixing valve is a convenient mechatronic device that uses temperature sensors to detect water temperature, a microcomputer to control the system, and solenoid valves to drive the mechanism, automatically adjusting the water temperature to reach the set target. Simply put, the working principle of the smart mixing valve is this: after the device is started, users set the desired mixed water temperature. A temperature sensor then detects the water temperature inside the pipe and transmits this information to the microcomputer control unit. Based on the current water temperature and flow rate in the pipe, the microcomputer quickly calculates how much hot or cold water needs to be added (or reduced). The microcomputer then controls the solenoid valves, which rapidly adjust the mixing blades and water valves accordingly. This process repeats continuously, ensuring a steady supply of constant-temperature hot water with a temperature deviation of no more than 0.5 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the smart mixing valve is equipped with high-temperature and low-temperature alarm functions.
