Installation and Use of Ultrasonic Water Meters
Many people aren't familiar with the installation and use of ultrasonic water meters. Below, we’ll provide a comprehensive guide to the installation and usage of ultrasonic water meters.
(1) The selection of ultrasonic water meter specifications should be based on the principle that the actual flow rate in the pipeline is equal to or slightly less than the commonly used flow rate of the ultrasonic water meter; the diameter of the ultrasonic water meter should not be determined solely by the pipe diameter.
(2) During installation, the direction of the arrow on the watch case should be the same as the direction of water flow.
(3) After installation is complete, lead seals should be applied between the ultrasonic water meter body and the connecting nut, as well as between the temperature ball valve and the temperature sensor.

(4) All components of the ultrasonic water meter (the flowmeter component, the temperature sensor component, and the calculator component) should be installed in locations that are protected from exposure to sunlight, flooding, freezing, and chemical contamination, and should be easily accessible for disassembly, installation, and meter reading.
(5) Users can refer to the installation diagram.
(6) During the construction of the water supply system, a straight pipe section should be installed first in place of the ultrasonic water meter for pipeline cleaning. Alternatively, the system piping should be thoroughly cleaned before installation to remove debris such as hemp fibers and sand particles from branch pipes, thus preventing flowmeter malfunctions. During operation, the filter should be regularly cleaned (it is recommended to clean it once per year) according to the water quality conditions. It is advisable to leave a straight pipe section of 10DN upstream of the meter and 5DN downstream of the meter (where DN represents the nominal diameter of the ultrasonic water meter).
(7) When the ultrasonic water meter has been in operation for 8 years (equivalent to two verification cycles) or the display screen shows a battery alarm symbol, the battery should be replaced by qualified technicians to prevent any disruption to the normal operation of the ultrasonic water meter.
