Installation method for gas meters
Introducing the installation method for gas meters.
The gas meter must be placed horizontally on its bracket and shall not be tilted. The vertical deviation of the meter should not exceed 1 cm. The inlet and outlet pipelines of the gas meter should be made of steel or lead pipes, and the threaded connections must be tight. After bending, the lead pipe should form a smooth arc while maintaining its original diameter; it should not be dented or collapsed. The horizontal branch pipe upstream of the meter should slope toward the riser, while the horizontal branch pipe downstream of the meter should slope toward the cooking appliance. The flexible joint for the horizontal branch pipe connecting to the low-mounted meter must not be installed inside the cooktop surface. When connecting the gas meter’s inlet and outlet with single-pipe fittings, pay attention to the correct connection direction to avoid installation errors.
The single-tube connector has its side end connected to the inlet pipe and its top end connected to the outlet pipe. At the lower end, where it connects to the meter, a rubber sealing ring must be installed. The rubber ring of the device must not be twisted or deformed to prevent gas leakage. When the inlet and outlet pipes of the gas meter are located on opposite sides of the meter, pay attention to the correct connection direction. Generally speaking, when facing the meter’s dial, the left side is the inlet pipe, and the right side is the outlet pipe. During installation, follow the product instructions for the gas meter carefully to avoid incorrect installation.
After the gas meter has been installed, a tightness test shall be conducted. The test medium shall be compressed air at a pressure of 300 mm water column; the pressure drop within 5 minutes shall not exceed 20 mm water column to be considered qualified.
