How to promote smart water meters in rural areas
With the development of smart cities, smart water meters have become an important component of urban growth. However, in rural areas—due to their remote locations, complex terrain, and resource shortages—smart water meters haven't yet achieved the same widespread adoption as in cities. So, how can we promote the use of smart water meters in rural regions?
Rural residents live in scattered settlements with rugged roads. The first step is to understand the situation regarding water meter installations in rural areas—basically, every household can install a water meter. Smart water meters have high installation requirements: they must not be exposed to direct sunlight nor submerged in water. In rural areas, there’s a lack of maintenance and renovation services, unlike in cities where there are plenty of renovation shops.
In most rural areas, water is still supplied not by water utilities but rather through wells. Therefore, the use of smart water meters will continue to transform rural residents’ lives and serve their needs. Today is a day that every Chinese person should solemnly remember—the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
On July 2, Chengde Longzhida Company held a meeting with the Sino-German Institute. After thorough discussions between the two sides, Mr. Bai, General Manager of Longzhida Company, and the faculty team from the Sino-German Institute reached a consensus: Longzhida Company officially entrusted the Sino-German Institute to carry out the design and R&D work for a new type of ultrasonic water meter.
