What preparatory work needs to be done before installing a water meter?
Before installing a water meter, it’s essential to complete the necessary preparatory work to ensure optimal performance. Below, we’ll introduce several basic steps you should take before installing a water meter.
1. Choose the right water meter
When the water meter operates at an appropriate flow rate, it exhibits excellent stability and durability. If the plumbing system is designed with sufficient capacity to accommodate future increases in water flow, you can opt for a water meter one size smaller when making your selection. In cases where there are users with high water consumption, you can choose a larger-diameter water meter or connect several smaller-diameter meters in parallel.

2. Find a suitable installation location.
(1) The water meter should be installed in a pipe shaft within the building or in a meter pit, to facilitate future maintenance by the tap water company.
(2) Avoid installing the water meter in locations near pollution sources or outdoors (if installed outdoors, use a protective box to prevent freezing damage). Such locations can easily cause corrosion and damage to the water meter.
(3) It is not advisable to install the water meter in an environment where it may be subjected to external forces.
The above is the preparatory work you need to do before installing the water meter. We hope this information will be helpful to you. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at 0314-5932916—we’re here to assist you anytime!
