How do you clean the electrodes of a smart electromagnetic flowmeter?
Electromagnetic flowmeters primarily rely on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Due to their sensitive response, corrosion resistance, and high measurement accuracy, they have gained widespread market acceptance. Because electromagnetic flowmeters can measure corrosive media and dirty fluids, over time, deposits will accumulate on the electrodes. These deposits can introduce measurement errors into the instrument. Therefore, it is essential to regularly clean and maintain the flowmeter to ensure its proper functioning. Below, we’ll introduce methods for cleaning the electrodes of electromagnetic flowmeters.
1. Mechanical Removal Method
Mechanical Removal Method: Electrode cleaning is achieved by installing special mechanical structures on the electrodes. This method primarily comes in two forms: one involves using a mechanical scraper, and the other employs a steel wire brush designed to remove stains. The operation requires manual intervention by personnel.
2. Ultrasonic Cleaning Method
Ultrasonic Cleaning Method: An ultrasonic voltage of 45–65 Hz generated by an ultrasonic generator is applied to the electrodes. The ultrasonic waves break down dirt and grime, after which the parts are rinsed clean, thereby achieving the purpose of removing contaminants.

3. Electrical Breakdown Cleaning Method
Electrode Cleaning by Dielectric Breakdown: A periodic high-voltage AC current is applied between the electrodes and the dielectric medium. As the electrodes become fouled, the contact resistance on their surfaces increases, causing most of the applied voltage to concentrate on the fouling layer. The high voltage then breaks down the fouling material, which is subsequently washed away by the fluid flow. For safety reasons, the power must be switched off before performing this procedure.
Regular cleaning and maintenance of the electrodes will extend the service life of the electromagnetic flowmeter and reduce measurement errors. We hope the methods mentioned above will be helpful to everyone. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out—we’re here to assist you anytime. Contact number: 0314-5932916

Longzhida Company Successfully Hosted the Victory Parade Commemorating the War of Resistance.
Today is a day that every Chinese person should solemnly remember—the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
On July 2, Chengde Longzhida Company held a meeting with the Sino-German Institute. After thorough discussions between the two sides, Mr. Bai, General Manager of Longzhida Company, and the faculty team from the Sino-German Institute reached a consensus: Longzhida Company officially entrusted the Sino-German Institute to carry out the design and R&D work for a new type of ultrasonic water meter.
On May 30, Longzhida Company successfully held an exceptionally meaningful event titled “Welcoming the Eighth ‘National Science and Technology Workers’ Day’: Promoting the Spirit of Scientists.”
