What is the relationship between water meter measurement and the flow rate of tap water?
Recently, many friends have been asking whether the meter reading of water meters is related to the speed of tap water flow. Below, we’ll explain this for you. We hope this will be helpful!
1. When the water flow is fast, the impact force of the water flow on the water meter’s impeller will definitely increase, and it is unquestionable that this will cause damage to the impeller.
2. The issue is that when the water flow is too rapid, it exerts an impact on the IC-card water meter’s valve. Since the surface of water has surface tension, when the water flow is excessive and the water meter valve is closed or opened, this can generate significant pressure on both the valve and its closure mechanism. Moreover, because the pipe walls are smooth, the inertial water pressure reaches its maximum, delivering a powerful impact to the valve and potentially causing damage. This phenomenon is commonly referred to as the “water hammer” effect. Water hammer can cause severe damage to water meters.

3. Each water meter has its own maximum flow rate limit; once the flow exceeds the meter’s maximum pressure rating, the meter will no longer be able to accurately measure water usage.
Therefore, it’s best to ensure that the water flow velocity inside the pipe remains normal. We hope the above information has been helpful to everyone. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out—we’re always here to assist you.

Longzhida Company Successfully Hosted the Victory Parade Commemorating the War of Resistance.
Today is a day that every Chinese person should solemnly remember—the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
On July 2, Chengde Longzhida Company held a meeting with the Sino-German Institute. After thorough discussions between the two sides, Mr. Bai, General Manager of Longzhida Company, and the faculty team from the Sino-German Institute reached a consensus: Longzhida Company officially entrusted the Sino-German Institute to carry out the design and R&D work for a new type of ultrasonic water meter.
On May 30, Longzhida Company successfully held an exceptionally meaningful event titled “Welcoming the Eighth ‘National Science and Technology Workers’ Day’: Promoting the Spirit of Scientists.”
