What are the main features of solenoid valves?
External leaks are completely sealed off; internal leaks are easy to control, ensuring safe use.
Internal and external leakage are critical safety hazards. In most other types of automatic valves, the valve stem extends outward and is driven by electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators to rotate or move the valve core. All these designs face the persistent challenge of preventing external leakage from the dynamic seals of the moving valve stem. Only solenoid valves, which rely on electromagnetic force acting on a ferromagnetic core sealed within a magnetic-insulating sleeve, do not have any dynamic seals at all. As a result, external leakage is easily eliminated and virtually impossible to occur. However, solenoid valves are relatively difficult to precisely control in terms of torque, making them prone to internal leakage—even to the point of breaking off the valve stem’s head. On the other hand, the structural design of solenoid valves makes it remarkably easy to control internal leakage, reducing it to virtually zero. Therefore, solenoid valves are comparatively safer to use, especially when handling corrosive, toxic, or high- and low-temperature media.

The solenoid valve itself has a simple structure and is affordable, making it easier to install and maintain compared to other types of actuators such as control valves.
3. Quick action, low power consumption, and easy to use.
The solenoid valve has a fast response time and is more sensitive than self-regulating valves. The solenoid valve’s coil consumes low power, making it an energy-efficient product.
4. Limited adjustment accuracy and restricted applicable media.
A solenoid valve has only two states—on and off—and its spool can only occupy two extreme positions; it cannot be continuously adjusted.
