The Impact of Meter-Reading Environment on Meter-Reading Quality
Analysis of the Current Status of Meter Reading Environment
Meter-reading environmental issues are a common problem in the water utilities industry, due to varying ages of property construction, diverse topographical features, and installations that fail to meet regulatory standards.
1. The meter installation positions in the household meters are unreasonable.
Due to serious unauthorized extensions on the buildings themselves, which leave little usable space; strong user objections to meter locations occupying too much ground space; and insufficient foresight in the design regarding the difficulties of reading water meters in the later stages, the meter installation has turned out to be unreasonable. Such “high-altitude operations” are not only extremely challenging to perform but also require entering users’ homes during meter readings to reach the meter locations—making it altogether impossible to achieve true “water meters and pipelines exiting the building.” Even if the meters were replaced with models equipped with remote data transmission capabilities, this would still fail to eliminate the significant inconveniences that will arise in future maintenance and meter verification efforts.

2. Road, commercial premises expansion and renovation
Due to the installation of landscape landscaping and the resulting elevation of road surfaces, water supply facilities are highly likely to become buried or obscured. If follow-up actions are not taken promptly and meter locations are not identified in a timely manner, over time this could lead to the disappearance of water meters.
The meter wells are too deep, and debris has accumulated, making it impossible to fully read the meter readings. As a result, it’s entirely impossible to verify whether the meter is a multiplier-type meter. Moreover, such conditions could potentially damage the water supply infrastructure. Additionally, this poses safety risks for meter readers during their work.

Longzhida Company Successfully Hosted the Victory Parade Commemorating the War of Resistance.
Today is a day that every Chinese person should solemnly remember—the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
On July 2, Chengde Longzhida Company held a meeting with the Sino-German Institute. After thorough discussions between the two sides, Mr. Bai, General Manager of Longzhida Company, and the faculty team from the Sino-German Institute reached a consensus: Longzhida Company officially entrusted the Sino-German Institute to carry out the design and R&D work for a new type of ultrasonic water meter.
On May 30, Longzhida Company successfully held an exceptionally meaningful event titled “Welcoming the Eighth ‘National Science and Technology Workers’ Day’: Promoting the Spirit of Scientists.”
