I. Performance Characteristics of NB Water Meters
The NB-IoT smart water meter is a sophisticated device that leverages Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) communication technology and a dedicated communication module to wirelessly transmit water consumption data to a computer terminal. The accompanying system software platform features digitalization, wireless communication, and integrated metering, offering advantages such as stable signal transmission without network interruptions, integrated meter reading and billing, and simplified installation and maintenance. This solution meets the needs of intelligent management for water supply companies by enabling automatic, remote meter reading of water usage, effectively eliminating the need for on-site meter readings by management personnel. Additionally, the NB-series IoT water meters are equipped with valve control functionality, allowing management authorities to conveniently monitor and regulate water consumption through these meters.
II. Performance Characteristics of LORA Water Meters
The LORA wireless remote smart water meter employs low-frequency narrowband (frequency band: 470 MHz–510 MHz) ultra-low-power wireless communication technology, leveraging the most stable and reliable direct-sequence spread-spectrum technology to ensure consistent communication range for the water meter. After being collected by a wireless concentrator, the water meter data is transmitted via today’s well-established GPRS/CDMA/3G/4G public network wireless communication to the back-end meter-reading system. This solution features low costs, stable communication, and mature technology.
With direct-sequence spread-spectrum low-power wireless communication technology, remote meter-reading and control have become much simpler. This technology meets the requirements of the back-end management system by enabling automatic generation and entry of metering data, automatic collection of water-meter readings, control functions, data storage, query capabilities, monthly billing, meter-reading settlement, charge settlement, report printing, and other related functions. The collected data is then processed and categorized accordingly.
