What are the reasons for inaccurate metering by IoT remote water meters?
Recently, many customers have been asking why they believe their IoT remote-read water meters aren't measuring accurately and sometimes show higher readings than they should.
1. Poor environment
The water quality is relatively poor, and debris in the pipeline has clogged the filter screen, leading to an increased measurement error.
2. Incorrect installation and use
Improper installation and use—such as insufficient lengths of straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the water meter, or installation in locations prone to air accumulation—can prevent the meter’s internal mechanism from accurately measuring flow.
3. Compare it with the water meter that has inaccurate measurements.
After replacing the old water meters with new ones, some new meter users continue to use the inaccurate old meters as the standard to evaluate the newly installed, highly accurate IoT water meters, claiming that the new meters read too quickly or are inaccurate.
The above are some of the reasons users believe IoT water meters are inaccurate. If you notice any issues with the metering performance of our products, feel free to bring them to our testing department for inspection at any time. For other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask—we’re here to assist you anytime.
