The correct way to use an IC card water meter
Because of their drawbacks—such as cumbersome reading and billing procedures, as well as low accuracy—smart water meters are increasingly gaining popularity. Among them, IC-card water meters are the most widely purchased and enjoy the best reputation in the market. However, many people don't know how to use them. Below, we’ll provide you with a detailed introduction.
“Pay first, use water later” is the biggest highlight of IC-card water meters. Only tap-water users can recharge their water fees onto the card and then use it—this significantly reduces the manpower required for meter reading by management departments and virtually solves the longstanding problem of difficult fee collection. However, many users don’t actually use these IC-card water meters very much. So, how should they be used?

First, you’ll notice that the upper part of the device features a display—specifically, a card-swiping area. After paying your fees at the management office, you can simply hold your IC card over this area to swipe it. At that moment, a red light will start flashing on the display, indicating that your water consumption data has been successfully read by the meter. Then, the display will show the following information: the amount recharged, the amount used, the volume of water consumed, the remaining water volume, and the unit price. If your meter is equipped with tiered pricing, it will also display different unit prices corresponding to each tier. Additionally, if your meter includes a valve control function, the display will show either “Valve Open” or “Valve Closed.” Normally, when your meter has prepaid water credits, the valve will remain open. However, if you have an outstanding balance, the valve will automatically shut down, preventing you from using water normally. In such cases, you’ll need to go back to the management office to recharge your account.
The above is the usage procedure for the IC-card water meter. Its simple and convenient operation, smart and secure payment method, and high-quality, reliable product performance all deliver a truly unique experience. If you’re also a fan, don’t wait—act now!
