What should we pay attention to when using small-caliber water meters? Below, we’ve listed several key points you need to be aware of.
1. When selecting the caliber of a smart water meter, pay attention to the diameter of the pipe at the installation location and choose a meter with an appropriate caliber based on the magnitude of the flow rate.
2. The location for installing the water meter should be chosen in a place that is convenient for removal and meter reading, and it should be protected against exposure to sunlight and freezing temperatures. Additionally, an oil valve should be installed upstream of the water meter to allow for water shut-off during meter removal and installation.
3. If the liquid inside the pipeline is corrosive or at a high temperature, it may cause deformation of the meter’s internal mechanism; therefore, this water meter should not be used.
4. Smart water meters cannot be installed vertically (except for vertical water meters that are installed horizontally—where the dial should face upward and the arrow on the meter casing should point in the same direction as the water flow).
5. Smart water meters are precision measuring devices. During use, care should be taken to avoid applying strong external forces to the meter body. Users must not tamper with or damage the lead seals or disassemble internal components on their own. If you suspect that the meter reading is significantly inaccurate, please report it to the relevant authorities for inspection.
